Bringing together the best pastry chefs
Every other year, the World Pastry Cup pits young, up-and-coming pastry chefs from around the world against each other. After 50 national selections and 5 continental qualifiers, representatives of 20 different countries meet in Lyon, at the Sirha trade fair, to celebrate the art of pastry.
Each team is made up of three pastry chefs that have mastered their field: a chocolate artist, a dessert specialist, and an ice cream expert.
They face 10 hours of challenges during which they have to make unique desserts and ephemeral works of art in front of an audience of pastry lovers and a jury made up of celebrated pastry chefs.
The World Pastry Cup is an excellent way to bring pastry chefs to the fore. It is also a superb showcase for contemporary pastry, a way to show off the most innovative of techniques and shape trends in taste and design.
